What do Goodie Mob and DMX have in common? The first thing is today [Tuesday December 21st] they both have albums dropping today. DMX's album is called 'And Then There Was X'. It's a cool album which features most of the usual Ruff Ryders crew as well as a song from Sisquo of Dru Hill. However as I said before too many of the songs sound like a reworking of the 'Ruff Ryders Anthem'.

The Goodie Mob have a 14 song lp that may give Dr Dre a run for the money called 'World Party'. This is one of my favorite joints for the year-no doubt.Unlike most groups GM kept the collaboration process down to a minimum. Cee-Lo explained that since the group rolls four deep it was best to give fans an opportunity to really get to musically know them better. Too many guests would lead to distractions undermine the type of connection the group wants to build with their fans.

The second thing both parties have in common is they spent their weekend giving back to those in need. For example, mad props are in order to everyone's favorite dog-DMX as he returned to the Children's Village foster center in Dobbs Ferry New York where he lived from 1983-85. There he celebrated his birthday and kicked it with the youth who live there.

The Goodie Mob spread some Christmas cheer by passing out gift certificates and presents to underprivileged kids at R-W Goodtimes in Gwinnett County Georgia. One of the kids who attended the event was Santonio Lucas who apparently lost his entire family over the summer during murder-suicide rampage. The Goodie Mob noted that they wanted to help provide a sense of hope during the holidays to the kids.
